This is actually a really cute graphic novel version of the movie。 I particularly like the epilogue- not having watched the live action movie， this gives you an idea of what happens after the “happily ever after” in the Disney film

Wow！ A manga version of Beauty and the Beast？ Sign me up please。 This makes for a quick read between my heavier reads。 There’s nothing new here in the story that we don’t already know but this Is actually a manga adaptation to the live movie in 2017。 There are two volumes - one focusing on Belle’s POV and the other on Beast’s POV。 I love that they each have their own perspectives because it gives us an insight into what their thoughts are and helps us appreciate the plot better。In Belle’s story， Wow！ A manga version of Beauty and the Beast？ Sign me up please。 This makes for a quick read between my heavier reads。 There’s nothing new here in the story that we don’t already know but this Is actually a manga adaptation to the live movie in 2017。 There are two volumes - one focusing on Belle’s POV and the other on Beast’s POV。 I love that they each have their own perspectives because it gives us an insight into what their thoughts are and helps us appreciate the plot better。In Belle’s story， we learn more about how she really feels being an outcast in her town。 There was also a glimpse into her background and where she had lived as a child。 I enjoyed how the story flowed but I felt that some parts ended quite suddenly， like it was cut short。The illustration was were nicely done and although this follows a manga style， reading from right to left， some of the dialogues did not follow this which can be a little confusing。 Overall， this was a nice and enjoyable read。 I also felt like watching the movie again after this！Thank you NetGalley and Tokyopop for the arc。 。。。more

Thank you to NetGalley for providing a copy of this in exchange for an honest review。The art in this book was awesome。 This is a great book even if you are not familiar with the story。 Great for all ages。 Loved the new-ish perspective from Belle。Getting a better insight into her thoughts and feelings was nice from previous versions I have seen and read。 I would say it was a nice mix from the Disney original animated version and the newer Disney live action version with Emma Watson。 Would of love Thank you to NetGalley for providing a copy of this in exchange for an honest review。The art in this book was awesome。 This is a great book even if you are not familiar with the story。 Great for all ages。 Loved the new-ish perspective from Belle。Getting a better insight into her thoughts and feelings was nice from previous versions I have seen and read。 I would say it was a nice mix from the Disney original animated version and the newer Disney live action version with Emma Watson。 Would of loved a bit longer book with a bit more details， I was definitely sorry when it ended。 Will look for other books by this author in the future for sure。 。。。more

Despite how Belle felt at the beginning of the story， the colours used were bright because she has a positive outlook and wasn’t depressed and this was expressed in colours。 I loved the colours and so did my 8 month old when I read it to her; she loved the colours so much。 I gave this 5 out of 5 stars because the drawing was well represented for the manga style and the change in colour scheme to represent emotions was fantastic。 There is a second manga that goes with this which is from Beast’s P Despite how Belle felt at the beginning of the story， the colours used were bright because she has a positive outlook and wasn’t depressed and this was expressed in colours。 I loved the colours and so did my 8 month old when I read it to her; she loved the colours so much。 I gave this 5 out of 5 stars because the drawing was well represented for the manga style and the change in colour scheme to represent emotions was fantastic。 There is a second manga that goes with this which is from Beast’s POV; check out my review for that on my blog。 。。。more

Belle is perhaps one of my favorite Disney characters of all time。 The animated Beauty and the Beast is the first movie I ever saw in a movie theater。 So， it holds a special place in my heart。 That being said， this fully illustrated manga immediately caught my eye。 While it didn’t disappoint， I wish I had also the Beast’s POV along with Belle’s。 Thank to Netgalley and the publisher for the opportunity to read this beloved classic in manga format。

Okay， first things first。 This is based on Disney’s live-action version of “Beauty and the Beast” released in 2017。 （I’m a fan of the original Disney animated movie released in 1991 but the 2017 version is pretty good too。） I don’t need to sum up the story this time， right？ Everyone knows “Beauty and the Beast”。 This is a faithful rendition of the original “tale as old as time”。 To a great extent， having familiarity with the movies will help you appreciate the plot better because there are a cou Okay， first things first。 This is based on Disney’s live-action version of “Beauty and the Beast” released in 2017。 （I’m a fan of the original Disney animated movie released in 1991 but the 2017 version is pretty good too。） I don’t need to sum up the story this time， right？ Everyone knows “Beauty and the Beast”。 This is a faithful rendition of the original “tale as old as time”。 To a great extent， having familiarity with the movies will help you appreciate the plot better because there are a couple of abrupt scene changes and skips in the narrative。 Of course， if you know the original fairy tale， that would help too。 But the movie will make a difference to your experience。I’ll focus mainly on the manga aspect of this book。 This is part of a two-volume manga series which was originally released in 2017， just after the movie。 This latest edition is the full colour version of the original B&W manga。 （Obvious then that this is aimed at the Western audience。 Japanese manga is almost always in B&W。） The colouring for the two books has been done in two distinct styles， to represent the personality of its lead characters。 This version， which comes to us from Belle’s point of view， is painted in a style inspired from shoujo anime （manga aimed at young girls。） Thus the colours are bright and quite fluid。 They don’t hit your eyes by being very flashy。 They suit Belle’s story perfectly。 The illustrations are wonderful， drawn in typical anime style。 Beauty especially is a joy to behold。 However， some of the panels （or koma） are blurry。 This spoils the effect of the overall illustrations。 There are a couple of speech bubbles where the script isn’t in English。 I am not sure if this is a problem only in the ARC version。At the same time， the manga in the book isn’t consistent。 Traditionally， manga stories are read from right to left and from top to bottom， in the same way as Japanese writing。 However， this book mixes this up many times。 So some pages come in the traditional order while some other pages are in the Western left-to-right order。 This becomes confusing while reading。 Either way would have been fine by me; having both is what creates the problem。 Overall， I did like this manga， but not as much as I had expected。 I’d rather watch the movie again instead。 I am yet to read the second book in this series， which comes from the point of view of the much misunderstood Beast。 I’m looking forward to that one as it would be a perspective not seen in the movies。 Let’s hope that book goes better。3。25 stars from me。 My thanks to TOKYOPOP and NetGalley for the DRC of “Disney Manga: Beauty and the Beast - Belle's Tale （Full-Color Edition）”。 This review is voluntary and contains my honest opinion about the book。 To read my review of Beast's book， click here: Disney Manga: Beauty and the Beast - The Beast's Tale***********************Join me on the Facebook group， Readers Forever！， for more reviews， book-related discussions and fun。 。。。more

Thanks to NetGalley for this ebook in exchange of an honest review。 La historia de este manga es muy similar a la película del live action de La bella y la bestia， solo que más resumida。 Y al estar dentro de la versión de Belle， resulta un poco más introspectiva que la película， pues podemos leer sus pensamientos todo el tiempo。 Ahora bien， las ilustraciones no me gustaron lo suficiente， la verdad sentí que le faltó emoción a los personajes dibujados。Es rápido y ligero de leer。

Thank you to Netgalley and the publishers for an e-ARC for an honest reviewI enjoyed the live action Beauty and the Beast and I thought it was cool that Disney does manga of their movies。 I think the art style is stunning and I love the color。 I like how they adapted the movie close enough with a few changes。
